Guilty Pleasure

I wanted to write about a show that I found a few months back. It's called "Whatever, Martha". It's on the Fine Living Network, and I just happened upon it one day. The show features Alexis Stewart (Martha Stewart's daughter), and her friend Jennifer Hutt, watching reruns of the Martha Stewart Living show. They watch different segments of the show while mocking several or all of the participants, including Martha. Sometimes they even try and do the "craft" that Martha is doing that day. They can never do it as well, fast or without injury. (shocker)Sometimes it's just OK, but sometimes it is stinkin' funny!

Martha has had some of the dumbest segments like:
How to wash dishes.
How to wrap up and transport your plants from your winter home to your summer home.
How to set up dominoes.
How to build garden equipment for your terrarium. (Seriously)

My friends and I have done this exact thing, maybe that's why I find it entertaining.
I wanted to let you know to check it out sometime. It's great no-brainer TV.

Thanks Easter Bunny, Bawk! Bawk!

I thought this was a wonderful day for me to return to the blogging world.
I really don't have any excuses for not blogging... I just wasn't in to it. I've been chastised by the "grandparents" to continue, if only for the pictures. I'm hoping I will get excited about it again.

Our little family had a nice, low key Easter. We went to church, and it was Gabby's first week in Nursery! YEAH! Well before you get too excited, or I guess I should say before I get too excited, I was called to be a Nursery leader this week as well. Hmmm... how do I feel about that you ask? Well to be honest a little disappointed. Only because I wanted Gabby to be with kids her own age, without me for a couple of hours. I thought it would be really good for her. But I think it will be good for both of us. The kids are so cute, and I'm sure they have something to teach me.

We came home and had THE HUNT! This was Gabby's first hunt, and still being unwilling to walk, was a little tricky for her. She doesn't like the prickly grass. Here are some photos from our day. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Fashion Corner with Gabby

Hello all! Gabby would like to model one of her Sunday outfits today.
The outfit below is a sweater and a skirt. The skirt is black, green, and red plaid. It is pleated with a red and white polka-dot liner. the sweater is cream with a plaid heart on the front.

This was the first time we did 'big girl' ponies in her hair.... My girl is growing up.

Love Week Day 6

I LOVE TODD.

I absolutely love him. Even though I was 'late' to marry, way back in the bottom of my soul, I felt I would. I didn't know who or when, but I believed it would happen. I now know so many answers to my questions through those years of waiting. I needed to become, learn, lose, experience, and grow. It took me awhile to be ready, but when I finally was, the Lord sent me Todd. He is the perfect man for me. He swept me off my feet, and I've barely touched the ground since. I appreciate the work he does for our family. I think he is a wonderful husband and father. He gives me what I lack.

"Your all I need my love, my Valentine."

I love you baby!

Love Week Day 5

Sorry I'm late with Day 5. I went on a date last night.

I LOVE DATES! The picture below is of Todd and I on our first date.

We weren't even trying to look like this:

We kinda do anyway. Our first date was wonderful. It was a 'first date weekend' actually, because I had to fly to Denver to meet him. It's a great story.

Periodically we get to go out on date. It doesn't happen as much as I would like, but it does happen. I LOVE getting to spend time alone with Todd. It seems like each date I find out something new about him.

I LOVE MY KIDS!
I especially love them in their jammies. All clean and lotioned up... they are Yummy! I can't believe how much I've learned being a mom. What a wonderful blessing they are to me. They make me laugh and enjoy life. The part of life that's really important... Family. Thank heaven for my family.

Love Week Day 4

I LOVE MUSIC!
It makes me happy. One of my favorite things is being alone in the car, turning up a great song, and belting it out! Now just for the record, I can't sing. But somehow singing one of my favorite songs as loud as I can in the car...sounds good to me.

I LOVE TARGET!

This store, (otherwise known as Tarj-ay or The $100 store) makes me happy. I went there today with Gabby. We really only needed one thing, but I didn't have anything pressing to do, so we walked around. I love looking at the decor, the holiday items, cards, and clothes. I love that the isles are really wide, and the store is clean. The prices are great too. I just feel relaxed when I go there. Ahhhh... shopping is good.

Sorry that's all the love for today. I LOVE feeling good, and sadly today I'm sick. Better luck tomorrow I hope.

Love Week Day 3

I LOVE MY KITCHENAID MIXER! I use mine all the time. It makes whipping up a batch of cookies so much easier, and look at all the adorable colors they come in! Mine is red. I wondered if I would regret the 'bold' color choice, but I have loved it.

I LOVE WATCHING MACIE AND GABBY PLAY. Today we did a bit of dancing together. I love to have music on while I'm cooking or cleaning, it helps keep me going. So while I was baking some cookies, (using the above mixer) the girls started playing together. Gabby usually just sits on her knees and shakes her body to the music, but Macie decided she needed to get up and grove! It was hilarious! Soon we were all shakin' it up!

I LOVE HATS! I love them because on any given bad hair day... you've got it covered! I have lots of baseball caps ready for when my hair has a mind of it's own. Plus, you can go at least one more day without washing your hair! For me that's awesome!

Love Week Day 2

I LOVE THIS 'LONE' TREE that I can see out my back window. I look at it everyday. I like it best when the ground surrounding it is green. Doesn't it look inviting... like you want to take a blanket and a book, and curl up under it? I wonder if I would get into trouble...

I LOVE ALMOND ROCA! This is my all time favorite candy. Crunchy almond toffee, under milk chocolate............come on people! My mom gave me a can this year for Christmas. I don't think it survived the day, and I definitely wasn't sharing! I have to stay away from it...far, far, away.

I LOVE THESE TWO LADIES! During my little trip to Orlando with Todd, (I'll blog about it next week) these women saved me. My mom had some surgery while I was with her in Jan. We thought she would be back to health in a weeks time to take care of Gabby while we went to Florida. She's a strong lady, but not that strong! I needed someone to watch Gabby for 4 1/2 days! I was starting to panic a little, picturing her being dropped off at a new house each night, with people she didn't know. Stacey called and said she had it all worked out. Gabby would stay with Stacey for 3 days, and Heidi for 2. They were each taking off a day of work. I started to cry when she told me. I was so relieved, to have her in such capable hands. The tears came for another reason though. I was so grateful to have these 2 women in my life. They are so selfless, and good. They are the perfect example of true friends. When we say we would do anything for each other, we really mean it! BFF!

I LOVE COKE SLURPEES! Oh how I love these little beauties! I don't drink soda. Sadly my beverage consumption consists of lemonade, milk, and water. So every once in a while, (I've had to restrict myself) I have one of these. But only coke, not those other goofy flavors. Oh, and all frozen coke drinks are not created equal. The Icee does not compare. Slurpee is King!

Love Week Day 1

My good friend Denae is doing her 2nd annual "Love Week" posts this week in honor of Hearts Day. She encouraged everyone to do it, so I'm taking her up on it. I still have a few things to blog about from Jan. but this is more fun! Thanks for the great idea Denae!

I LOVE SNOW.
When it first falls and is stuck to the trees in every crook and cranny. I love looking at it in the wee morning, when the sun is just coming up and all the snow just glistens.
You know there is a God then.

I LOVE MY CHILDREN'S GRANDMAS.
I love they way they watch them. I love that you can almost see the love oozing out of them when they are around their grandchildren. I love (most of the time) that the children can do no wrong around them. I love them, for loving them.

I LOVE WATCHING TODD WITH HIS DAUGHTERS.
I obviously didn't see Todd interact with Macie as a young child, but I'm sure it was much the same as he does with Gabby. I love watching him with her. What is it about a grown man and a baby daughter that always grabs the mom's heart strings? I don't know but I've loved watching him with her. I'm sure with time he'll bug her, like he bugs Macie, but for now she still likes it! (The picture isn't clear because I was sneaking a shot through the screen door.)

Christmas

We spent Christmas with Todd's family this year, and had a great time. Well I guess I should say the girls and I had a great time. Todd was sick for the whole trip. He got the flu and was pretty much down for the count. I felt bad for him, he really didn't get to enjoy much of anything.

Here are the girls at my family party the weekend before Christmas. We were at my aunt Judy's home. I always love that party!

Here is Gabby and her cousin Jenner. Jenner is about 3 months older than she is. I wish we lived closer to them. I would love for her to be closer to her cousins! Looks like they found some treasure together...

Here we are with Grandpa Dan. Gabby loved her Grandpa, he taught her to blow kisses.

Some shots of Christmas morning.

We had a great time at Sally and Dan's. Ryan,Sarah and their girls were there too. It was so nice to spend some time with them. I really enjoy Todd's family. I wish we lived closer.

Fashion Corner with Gabby (Late Christmas Edition)

I know it's way past Christmas, but I had to put this outfit on the Corner!

Here she is "Decking the Halls" in her Santa dress, trimmed with white fur, and black patent leather shoes.

For a brief moment I got her to wear the hat...

A Little Catchin' Up...

Well yes, it's me. Sorry I've been gone so long. We were in Utah until the middle of Jan. and since we've been home, it just has been a little crazy. Nothing really changed except Gabby became 6 times more curious and destructive, I hurt my back, and the computer had some BIG viruses to clean out. All in all it's been tough to blog. I did want to share a few things that happened in the last couple months, if nothing but for my own enjoyment.

In Dec. (obviously) Macie's class had a special "Santa" day at a farm here in Brentwood. I think it was open for the everyone, but on this day for a few hours the special kids and their families could see and get a picture taken with Santa.

The picture with Santa didn't turn out, of course, but we got other fun shots! Here is Macie with the turkeys. She thought they were pretty funny.

Here she is going through the "hay maze". She loved that even more!

Gabby and Dad just hanging out.

It was really a nice outing. It was very cold though, and we didn't dress very warm. Todd got a little chilly in his shorts.
I have to say it seemed a little weird seeing Santa on this farm where they sold Christmas trees, and their wasn't any snow around. I'm still getting used to this California living.

After we went for a little lunch and hot chocolate. It felt so nice, just my little family together. I am very blessed.

Below is Gabby in her first debut in the "big girl" chair. She absolutely loved it... and the spoon she was banging on the table. Oh yeah, the hair... the girl won't leave her ponies in!

Great Day!
