Hey there sports fans! This week was a tie. Kinda boring I know.
I needed a win to catch up a little, but no such luck.

Fashion Corner with Gabby
Here she is in a darling lilac outfit. The top is gingham with small embroidered flowers on the bottom, and the bottoms are floral bloomers. Her shoes are from the same floral material. She also had a lilac bow in her hair, (for about 5 mintues)

Under the Knife, (I Mean Scissors)
![]()
Monday I went for a haircut.
I was super excited about it. I'm not sure if everyone gets so excited to get their hair done but I do. I think it's probably just the hope that I'm going to look SOOOOO much better when I leave.
My hair has gotten really long in the last couple of years. Maybe that's what happiness does to it, I can't explain it.
Todd said to me before we got married: "You're not going to cut your hair as soon as we get married are you?"
He really likes it long. I know this. I have wanted to cut it above my shoulders for a year now, but have not because of him. He is not the boss of me, but I do respect his opinion. As some of you might remember, when I met and married him, he buzzed his hair. He keeps his hair longer now, and I love it. He does it mostly for me.
I wanted to keep it longer for him, but I absolutely hated it. It was too much to deal with. With the baby in it all the time, and the time it took to do, I never felt like it looked that good anyway. I went to the salon seeking a compromise: No Victoria Beckham, but also no polygamist hair.
Here is the result.
It might not look short to you, but she cut off around 5 inches.
Todd does'nt like it. Well he says it's ok, but he misses my looooong hair.
I know guys generally like long hair rather than short. I don't really understand it, but I know it's true. I was sad when I saw his expression. Obviously I wanted him to think it was fabulous. I guess it will grow on us. For now I like it, and it's easier to do. Hopefully he'll learn to like it.

T vs T Week 3

Sorry the results are late. My internet hasn't worked for 3 days. It's hard being in the dark!
Todd won.
But only by one game.
If anyone read the anonymous comment left on last weeks NFL post, you know it wasn't very nice. I had been racking my brain trying to figure out who would have left it. Our little competition is all in good fun, and I can take some ribbing, but it seemed... not nice.
So a couple days after the comment, I asked Todd if he had read it. He said " oh the one that said the Cowboys are punks, and you're going to need all the help you can get?" "That comment?" ( with a smirky smile on his face.....)
Yes thats right. The man that I pledged my life to. The man that I promised to love and cherish. The man that I cook for, clean for, smile for, and adore.......WROTE that comment.
He couldn't contain himself. He was laughing so hard he almost woke up the baby. He was very proud of his comment, and that I didn't know it was him.
Anyway.........

Where were you?
I worked within 15 minutes from the airport, so there were always planes flying overhead. Not that day. It felt so weird.
In 2006 I went to New York with a couple of my girlfriends. We visited ground zero. It was a very somber place. Lots of construction and noise, yet at the same time oddly quiet. I took these pictures of a couple of the murals made from families of those that were killed.

It was not a banner week for either of us. A few games that should have been no-brainers, upset.

The Joy of Reading
I've never been much of a book reader. Off and on I'd read some mystery novel, but I was never really that into it. I never had to have a book. My parents read from time to time, but there was one woman I knew who absolutely lived to read! Her name was Jeanne. She was my best friends mom. She was my back-up mom. She always had a book. I don't remember which ones in particular, but I know she loved romance. One of my fondest memories is of her going into the bathroom, either for the normal reason, or to take a bath, and because the door wouldn't lock, she would open the drawer in front of the door so the kids couldn't get in. She had 8 of them. She would lock herself in for a few minutes at a time to get away from the craziness, and escape to someplace else. I love thinking of her hiding from us! I hope in heaven, she is finding a little time to still read.

A Trip to the City
Last night we left the house.
It's hard to believe I know.
I think we are becoming a bit reclusive.
Todd suggested for us to meet him at his office and walk down to Pier 39 and just hang out a little bit. Macie is out of school til Monday, (two of those "teacher days", THAT'S a topic for a whole other post!) so we could have a little late night!
Todd's friend Dean and his wife Darlene came with us. They are fun! It was nice to get out and be among the people!
So we went here:
My food was yummy! I love the clam chowder and sour dough bread!
Gabby did surprisingly well. She was a real trooper staying up 2 hours past her bedtime.
Here's my adorable family... in the wind:
The sunset was pretty behind us.

Let The Games Begin...

Oh you better believe it sports fans! It's my favorite time of the year!
FOOTBALL SEASON!
Tonight is the beginning...
I wish I could express adequately how I feel about this time of year. I absolutely love the fall. I realize since I've moved to Cali that I don't get as true of a sense of it as I did in Utah, with the coolness, and the leaves changing, but I still know it's fall.
As a football fan you can feel it coming. A certain something in the air, the need to wear a little black paint under your eye, the sudden desire to yell at the TV, and a yearning to dig out your old shoulder pads. Oh yes my friends, it's here. Here to stay for 5 months.
- Have a friendly wager with your husband on the games.
- Decide on a prize for each of you depending on who wins.
- Each week pick the winners of each of the 16 or so (depends on the week) games.
- Keep a running total of games lost and won.
- At the end of the regular season, see who won, and claim your prize!
- Bragging rights for the next 9 months!
Doesn't that sound like fun! And there's the possibility of a great prize! Come on people!!!
Last year Todd and I did this, and we had a great time! I actually won by 1 game, but we never decided on a prize so.......too bad, so sad for me.
It's different this year.
Our prizes have been selected, and I will be posting our scores every Tuesday to keep you all apprised of the standings.
I assume you all will be rooting for ME and my COWBOYS!
Todd is a good man, but a little confused about the best team in the NFL.
Enjoy the games my friends!
