Feeling Guilty in California

Hey, sorry for not posting. Apparently I've left my cord that I use to download my pictures at my mom's house. So I have no new pics yet.

I have been reading some of my friends' blogs regarding their children returning to school. For the most part they are sad, and have even shed tears about this. I understand the tears for the kindergartner. I'm sure I'll be crying over that one too. I'm just wondering about the older children, and why I don't feel that way about my child.

I love and enjoy Macie, but I love that she's back in school. Macie does so much better when school is the major part of her day. She loves her friends, the activities, the LUNCH, and especially the bus!

I don't want her gone for 12 hours or anything, but the 7 hours is nice. I get to get things done, spend some quality time with Gabby, and then focus on her when she gets home.

Reading the other posts has got me wondering though... why am I happy she's in school? Maybe I'm not a good enough mom yet. Does it have anything to do with the fact that I didn't give birth to her? Does it take more time to miss them? What am I doing wrong? I'm not sure, but I definitely feel guilty about it. I know almost everyone who reads this is a mom, so what should I do differently? Any advice?

I'm so glad you are back. You looked hot on Sunday. I can say that, right?

I'm not sad they started school, I'm sad they are growing up. It seems like every new grade they enter they get a little bit farther away from me. That's it. It's got nothing to do with being attached or unattached.

I drive by your house every day when I'm picking Max up. Stand outside at 3:10 and I'll wave to you!

Don't feel guilty...after my ever so sad post the other week I am actually enjoying my time alone with Jenner. And so should you! Besides, Macie needs the regular routine of school to keep her "personality" regular also...did I say that right? I hope I get my point accross without sounding weird.

You know what I am jumping for joy!! My kids were also happy to go back, they go tomorrow, don't even think you are a bad mother for wanting Mace to go to school, its hard work being a full time mother, you need a break, don't feel guilty...enjoy!!!

Whew, I was glad to hear from your friends that they are happy to have their kids in school, except for Kindergarten maybe, and that should only last the first week!!!! That means you're hangin' with normal people!!!!!!!

We all love our "down" time and even though Moms keep busy through the school day with other things, they can turn the eyes in the back of their heads off for a few hours!! No worries. You're doing great at being the instant Mom of a 14 yr old. Most 14 yr olds don't like their own Moms like Macie likes you so...just hang in there! You're doing something right. (probably got it from your Mom!! HaHaHa)

I love school too. As much as I love my kids and hate that they are getting big it is SO nice to get a break from them and they need a break from me too.
